Activities A lot of my life revolves around
music. I play the flute as well as
taiko. I also love dancing,
especially Swing, Lindy Hop and Salsa.
Outside of music, I enjoy reading and crocheting. I tend to spend a lot of time attending
Civil War Reenactments, museums and exploring historical sites. Finally, I really enjoy doing community
service and working with my co-ed fraternity, Alpha Phi
Omega. Why Did You Attend
SJSU? Attending SJSU was primarily due to
a gut-feeling that was triggered most by its location and activity. Even without a car, there always seems
to be plenty of options for places to go and things to do on R&R from
school—museums, shopping, festivals and food. Also, due to the activity of the campus,
there is often no need to venture into the city. SJSU gave me a wonderful feeling of
walking into a very intimate and proud community that I wanted to be a part
of. What Is Your Favorite Class At
SJSU? My favorite class was Tai Chi. Although Tai Chi was a class to complete
the KIN requirement, it was a welcomed break from the strenuous written work of
my other courses. The environment
was very relaxed and it was like being given credit for
unwinding. Who Is Your Favorite Professor At
SJSU? My two favorite professors at SJSU
are Professor Karpf (Anthropology) and Dr. Hilde (History). They set high standards for their
students, teach with a high degree of enthusiasm, which easily rubs off on their
students, and celebrate their students’ triumphs. They are truly
inspirational. What Are The Highlights of Your
SJSU Experience? One of the greatest highlights of
my experience here has been the degree to which I have gotten involved in campus
events and organizations. More
specifically it was through becoming a member of Alpha Phi Omega and becoming a
Student Ambassador. I feel that it
is through these opportunities that I have been shaped into a stronger
person. Who Is Your Hero, Idol or I don’t feel as though I’ve found a
really strong mentor quite yet, though I’d really like one. But in terms of a hero, I would have to
say that it would be those people of the armed services (past and
present). What Are Your Plans For The
Future? In the future, I’d really like to
work in a museum as a curator, educator, or in preserving artifacts. Traveling in conjunction with work is an
aspiration, specifically to the East Coast and select parts of |
